Binsar is one of the most famous picturesque place in the Kumaon .It is an acclaimed hill resort in Kumaon Himalays. The main attraction of Binsar is the picturesque view of the Himalayan mountain range ,which is stretched in 300 Km of famous peaks such as Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot, Panchchuoli, Kedarnath,Trishuli and Chaukhamba. Binsar is surrounded by the alpine flora ,ferns ,hanging moss and species of wild flowers as well as the forest where oak and rhododendron are found everywhere.
The trek starts from Thalisain via Pauri, From Thalisain the trek trail through a very rich forest of deodar, silver fir, pine and oaks, full of wildlife. The trek is best for winter months and it is not difficult with gradual ascents and descents. Enroute the trek, one can offer homage at the grat freedom fighter Veer Chander Singh Garhwali’s samadhi, built in the midst of the Dudhatoli Sanctuary at Musa Kota. This trek is full of life and the trekkers will enjoy the scenic beauty throughout. Thalisain can be approached from Srinagar, 1579 m, via Pauri (124 km).
ITINERARY (Duration -7 Days)
Day 1 - Rishikesh: Arrive Rishikesh and transfer to JG camp, Brahmapuri(12 km). Overnight at camp.
Day 2 - Rishikesh - Pauri: After breakfast 136 kms. drive to Pauri. Lunch enroute. Arrive Pauri and check into the hotel or tourist rest house. In the afternoon sight-seeing programme at Pauri. Dinner and overnight stay at Pauri.
Day 3 - Pauri- Thalisain: After breakfast 3 kms. drive to Thalisain with pack lunch. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4 - Thalisain- Piersain: After breakfast 13 km trek from Thalisain to Piersain with pack lunch. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5 - Piersain- Binsar - 7 Kms: Trek from Piersain to Binsar. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6 - Binsar to Gairsain - 20 kms: Trek from Binsar to Gairsain. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7 - Gairsain- Rishikesh: After breakfast 226 kms. drive to Rishikesh. Lunch enroute. Arrival Rishikesh.
